Prize Chocolate Cake


I make this cake for Stephen for his birthday, every year. It's turned into our little tradition. This cake is very tasty and very easy to make.



Ingredients



2 cups self-raising flour
1 ¼ cup white sugar
1 level teaspoon Cream of Tartar
½ teaspoon bicarb soda
100g butter, cubed
3 eggs
½ cup Milk
½ cup cocoa mixed with ½ cup hot boiling water
1 teaspoon vanilla essence



Method



Preheat oven to 170°C.
Cream butter and sugar in a mixer. Add in eggs and vanilla essence.
Sift the flour, Cream of Tartar and bicarb soda into a large bowl. Add in mixer and add milk.
Add in cocoa mixed with hot water. Mix until well combined.
Pour the mixture into the pan and bake for 30-45 mins. Set aside for 5 minutes, before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
